Timed Assessment Look

When given the brief for the timed assessment we were told we could re-create on of our other look or come up with an overall look of the brand. As Urban Decay are bright and fun I decided to go for an overall look of the brand.

I absolutely love the advertisement for the electric palette so wanted to draw inspiration from that. The bright colours really appeal to me.

The next thing I did was to go across to Pinterest to start and gather some pictures to create a mood board.

I knew that i wanted the hair up. It's just the makeup and the paint splatters that I am unsure about this is something I will need to test on face charts.

This was my first attempt and practicing my look I first did it with brown glossy eyes however I don't think it worked and made the paint look like it was an accident.
I tried adding a pink/purple smokey aye and much preferred the results.

After seeing these images there is a lot I want to change about my look for when I do my final assessment. For me there is just too much going on the with different eyes, glossy lips and the paint splatter it's too much. I want to get rid of the lip and make it more neutral. The face on pictures makes it look like two different makeup designs on one face so i'm going to bring the pink eye across and add it to the other side of the face. I want the skin to be more dewy so will add more highlighter and add a satin primer. I like the paint splatter the only thing I do want to change about it is the positioning. I want the green to be more focused on the ear and not all down the face. I will stick to green pink yellow and orange. I like the hair I just want it to me a little more frizzy and mess it so before doing to bun I will backcomb the hair.
